A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, DECLARING AS SURPLUS PROPERTY
A 2000 PONTIAC ACQUIRED BY THE PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT
AS UNCLAIMED EVIDENCE AND AUTHORIZING ITS DISPOSAL;
ALLOCATING THE PROCEEDS DERIVED FROM DISPOSAL OF THE
VEHICLE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, after numerous, unsuccessful attempts to contact the vehicle's owner, the Village's
Public Safety Department retained ownership atwo-door 2000 Pontiac as unclaimed evidence
pursuant to Section 705.105, Florida Statutes; and
WHEREAS, while the Public Safety Department initially intended to utilize the vehicle for
covert operations, the Department has determined that it cannot utilize the vehicle; and
WHEREAS, the Village currently holds title to the vehicle, and the Village Council has the
authority to dispose of surplus items of personal property owned by the Village in any manner so
long as it acts in good faith and in the best interests of the Village; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the adoption of this Resolution is in the best
interests of the Village and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE
OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are ratified as true and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby declares the following vehicle as surplus personal
property and authorizes Village Administration to dispose of such property in accordance with
all applicable Village policies, including, but not limited to, the sale of the vehicle at auction:
One two-door 2000 Pontiac (VIN: 2G2FS32K2Y2158486)

Section 3. The Village Council directs that any proceeds derived from the disposition of the
vehicle be deposited into the Law Enforcement Trust Fund (Account No. A3714-08998).
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
