A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE SOLE SOURCE
PURCHASE OF A LIGHTNING PREDICTION AND WARNING SYSTEM
FROM THOR GUARD, INC. FOR THE NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTRY
CLUB POOL; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Village Administration is recommending the purchase of a lightning prediction and
warning system for the Country Club Pool to cover the pool, the tennis center and most of the
golf course; and
WHEREAS, Thor Guard, Inc. is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the lightning prediction
and warning system; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the approval of this sole source purchase is in
the best interests of the Village and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing "whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby authorizes the sole source purchase of Thor Guard
Model 75B Lightning Prediction and Warning System, including installation and aone-year
preventative maintenance agreement at a total cost of $11,030.00, with funds expended from
Village Account No. A8051-66490 (Machinery & Equipment).
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
