• A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE USE OF THE VILLAGE'S
NEWSLETTER FOR BUSINESS CARD ADVERTISEMENTS TO PROMOTE
BUSINESSES LOCATED IN THE VILLAGE AND ESTABLISHING A FEE TO
COVER THE COSTS OF SUCH ADVERTISEMENTS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, at a Business Forum held on June 16, 2010, representatives of the business community,
Village Staff and the Village Council formulated a number of recommendations to help promote
Village businesses; and
WHEREAS, one of the recommendations formulated by the Business Forum attendees was to utilize
the Village's Newsletter to highlight Village businesses through the purchase of advertising space in
the Village newsletter; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council wishes to implement this recommendation and authorize the purchase
and publication of business card advertisements in the Village's Newsletter and establish a fee for such
advertisements; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the adoption of this Resolution is the best interests of
the residents and citizens of the Village of North Palm Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing "whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council authorizes Village Administration to include within the last two
pages of the Village's Newsletter standard-size business card advertisements for the promotion of
business located within the Village of North. Palm Beach. Space shall be made available on a first-
come, first-serve rotating basis, with those businesses advertising for the first time being given
preference over recurring advertisements.
Section 3. The Village Council further authorizes Village Administration to charge a fee per
advertisement to cover the costs associated with layout, printing and mailing.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 12th DAY OF AUGUST, 2010.
