• A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AND RATIFYING THE
EMERGENCY PURCHASE OF PARTS REQUIRED TO REPAIR THE AIR
CONDITIONING CHILLER AT THE VILLAGE'S PUBLIC SAFETY
FACILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village discovered that one of the compressors within the chiller unit at the
Village's Public Safety Facility had failed; and
WHEREAS, due to above average heat and humidity, all four compressors are necessary to
maintain an appropriate temperature at the Facility, and the failure of the compressor unit
negatively impacts Public Safety personnel, Public Safety equipment and the Village's computer
servers; and
WHEREAS, based on the exigent circumstances, Village Administration purchased the
replacement parts directly from the manufacturer in order to effectuate the repair as quickly as
possible; and.
WHEREAS, the Village Council hereby approves the emergency purchase of the replacement
parts, waives any otherwise applicable purchasing policy requirements, and determines that the
purchase of the replacement air conditioning parts was in the best interests of the Village and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing "whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby formally authorizes and ratifies the purchase of parts
necessary to repair a compressor within the chiller unit at the Village's Public Safety facility
from Trane's West Palm Beach Parts Center at a total cost of $15,978.55, with funds expended
from the Facility Services Machinery and Equipment Supplies Account No. A5519-35217.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
