07-21-1988 VC B WS-MMINUTES OF BUDGET NARKSHOP SESSION OF THE VILLAGE ~UNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORILY~ HELD THURSDAY, JULY 21, 1988 Present: Craig Mundt, Mayor Judy M. Piernan, Vice Mayor Tom Valente, President Pro Tem Jerry G. Gardner, Councilman ' V. A. Marks, M.D., Councilman Raymond J. Howland, Village Manager Shaukat Khan, Finance Director Mayor Mundt called the General Fund Budget Wbrkshop to order at 7:00 p.m. All members of the Council were present. The Village Manager and the Director of Finance were also present. The General Fund Budget reviews resumed with the library. Council decided to return the Acct. No. 34710 (Library History) at a later time. Irrigation (Acct. No. 35216) was cut $600.00. Council asked for a repair report on the elevator. VCR and Video Cassettes Accounts will remain as they are for now, but Council will return to them later. Sidewalk was cut at $1,500.00. Under tennis, Council said to include water fountains in the specifications for the clay courts. It was agreed to take bids for a new tennis professional, and additional tables and chairs were requested for the tennis shelter. Council requested that arrangements be made for C.J. to meet with the tennis ladies concerning luncheons for weekly tennis matches with other clubs. 1t~e electrical account was cut to $9,300.00. Council decided to keep the pro under contract rather than hire a salaried employee. Acct. No. 66920 was set at $3,000.00. Council asked for recocmiendation from Dick Cavanah and Ray Howland concerning the diving tower. Acct. No. 34330 (Gas) was cut by $3,000.00. Under Recreation part-time pay was cut to $35,000.00. Council agreed to the $4,800.00 lift, but wished to return to this item later. Acct. No. 66000 (Recreation Study and Sign) was cut out, saving $34,000.00. It was agreed to leave the scoreboard at this time, and return to this item later. Approximate cuts at this point totaled $335,000.00. Council also ' cut the $5,000.00 from Other Professional Services for the Wage & Salary Survey. Members of the public were in attendance at this meeting.
