Mayor Valente called the Budget Workshop Session to order at 7:00 ROLL CALL
p.m. All members of the Council were present. The Village
Manager and the Finance Director were present.
Last evening the Council had its final budget review session for GENERAL FUND
the proposed General Fund budget. The Village Manager and REVENUES
Finance Director spent a good portion of Friday and all day
Monday reassessing our revenues in order to bring the village in
line.
The Council cut the following items: BUDGET CUTS
Contingency was reduced fran $153,000 to $125,000. This
leaves $100,000 in actual contingency, $20,000 for the gas
' leak, $5,000 for insurance contingencies.
The Assistant to the Village Manager was cut for a total of
537,640; includes fringe.
The awards program was reduced from $8,500 to $1,000.
The Hurst Jaws of Life was cut at $8,763.
Special Legal Fees was reduced by $5,000.
The VCR program in the Library budget was cut at $5,700.
In finality, the Council agreed to raise the millage from
3.42 to 3.50, plus Debt Service of .170. Tb obtain the
figure we are also applying $275,872 from surplus. Also, all
nonunion employees not covered in previous workshop sessions
were granted a five percent (58) raise.
Members of the public were in attendance at this meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 7:55 p.m.
