VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FIARIDA

MONDAY, JULY 20, 1987

Mayor Valente called the Budget Workshop Session to order at 7:00
p.m. All members of the Council were present. The Village
Manager and the Finance Director were present.
The first item discussed was the proposed millage which has to be
sent in to the County Appraiser's office before the end of the
month. Council decided on 3.500 as the tentative millage.
Under the Council's budget: Council voted to increase their
salary to $300 per month. This would not take effect until next
March and would only affect three peoples therefore, the budget
line item will be increased by $1200 for 1987-88.
FSnployee Awards: $8500 was set aside for some program. It may
not be the jewelry.
' Clerk's budget: Approved as is.
Village Manager's budget: Tentative approval given to hiring an
Administrative Assistant at a starting salary of $30,000.
Five percent (5B) raises were granted for the Manager and Clerk
and five percent for all department heads with the exception of
Charles O'Meilia who will be receiving seven percent (7$). In
the same discussion, four percent (4B) raises were granted to
Steve Sandusky and Paul Widemer.
A General Fund Reserve for accrued compensation was set up. The
Account No. will be 12420 and the reserve will be placed in the
Finance Department budget. The amount will be $15,000.
In the Manager's budget the $1500 for the Florida Innovation
Group was cut and also the $588 for the Hope Health Newsletter.
Under Village Attorney, the Labor Services line item of $8400 was
cut.
Planning and General Services: Left until the Council meets with
the Public Service Director.
' The Council left off with a discussion on manpower and was in the
midst of the capital budget for Public Safety when time expired
at 10:00 p.m.
There were no cuts in the Department 21 operations' line items.
On the third page we will list the proposed raises and the amount
of increase so that we may facilitate how much has been added or
subtracted since the start of the General Fund Review.
