VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA

Mayor Valente called the Workshop Session to order at 7:47 p.m.
All members of the Council and the staff were present.
A discussion was held concerning the collection of garbage on
Friday, November 29, 1985, the day after the Thanksgiving
holiday. This item will be placed on the regular session agenda
of November 14, 1985.
A discussion was held concerning the award of bid to Gold Coast
Gutters, Inc., West Palm Beach, FL, for downspouts and gutters
for the modules at Anchorage Park in the amount of $1,600.00 to
be expended from Account No. 10-572-042-35214. Council
questioned the Village Manager as to why the bid was awarded to
Gold Coast Gutters for $1,600.00 when we could have gotten four
' more downspouts from the second lowest bidder, Gutters and
Shutters, for $1,674.00 which is only $74.00 more. They wanted
to know if additional downspouts were needed.
The Village Manager will provide backup material to the
Council on this and the item will be placed on the regular
session agenda of November 14, 1985.
A discussion was held concerning the award of bid to Ted J. Doss,
North Palm Beach, FL, for lawn maintenance at the Village Hall
Complex in the amount of $650 per month - $7,800 per year, to be
expended from Account Numbers 10-512-012-33490 and
10-571-041-33490. The bid is welt over the amount budgeted for
this lawn maintenance, and it was the only bid we received.
Therefore, the Village Manager felt that this should be rebid
and the Council concurred.
Discussion was held concerning Southern Bell's long distance
franchise fees. The Village Manager is to contact Southern Bell
about increasing our franchise income by including additional
long distance billing involving the Village. Apparently if
you do not ask them to do this, they will not do it.
There being no further business to come before the Council, the
meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p. m.
