04-11-1985 VC WS-MMINUTES OF WORKSHOP SESSION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA HELD THURSDAY, APRIL 11, 1985 ' Present: Tom Valente, Mayor Al Moore, Vice Mayor Harriet Nolan, President Pro Tem V. A. Marks, M.D., Councilman Craig Mundt, Councilman Raymond J. Howland, Village Manager Herbert L. Gildan, Village Attorney Dolores R. Walker, CMC, Village Clerk Mayor Valente called the Workshop Session to order at 8:25 p.m. ROLL CALL All members of the Council and staff were present. A discussion was held concerning the South Florida Water WATER SHORTAGE Management request fora voluntary Water Shortage Ordinance. The ORDINANCE Council concurred that the ordinance as drafted by the Village Attorney was too lengthy and verbose. Therefore, they instructed Mr. Gildan to redraft the ordinance in condensed form. This item will appear on the regular session agenda of April 25, 1985, for adoption on an emergency basis. A discussion was held concerning awarding bid for fire pumper to FIRE PUMPER Dowling Fire Equipment, Inc., Silver Springs, FL, in the amount ' of $99,428.00 and the equipment bid award to Broward Fire Equipment of Ft. Lauderdale in the amount of $3,218.93, both to be expended from prior year's surplus. The Director of Public Safety and the Fire Chief were advised by Council that before this bid is to be awarded, it will be necessary for them to provide the proper backup to justify the purchase of this equipment. This item will appear on the regular session agenda of April 25, 1985. A discussion was held concerning awarding the bid to Roger 20 CUBIC YARD Whitley Chevrolet, Tampa, FL, for one 20 cubic yard packer truck PACKER TRUCK in the amount of $37,293.00 to be expended from prior year's surplus. This item will appear on the regular session agenda of April 25, 1985. A discussion was held concerning the placement of the yearly PLACEMENT OF budget and bi-monthly agendas of both the Regular and Workshop RECORDS Session in the Library. After some discussion it was discovered that the practice of placing the yearly budget in the Library had already been established. Copies of the agendas are to be posted on the outside bulletin board at Village Hall, with a statement indicating that after publication of the agenda items may be added or deleted by the Village Council and Village Officials.
