Mayor Moore called the greeting to order at 9:00 P. M. ROLL CALL
All ~rembers of the Cotmcil were present except Vice
Mayor Brawn who was ill.
A discussion was held concerning Mandatory Statewide MANDATORY STATEWIDE
Certification Program urging enactment of a mandatory CERTIFICATION ~R
statewide certification program for construction code OONSTRLTCITON OODE EN-
enforcement officials. There was much discussion on FORCEMENT OFFICIALS
this by the Council but there was a tie vote, with
two members for and two against, so it was dropped
for the present time.
A discussion was held concerning a proposed resolution GASOLINE/DIESEL FUEL
accepting Palm Beach County bid award for Gasoline/
Diesel Fuel. This proposed resolution will appear on
the next Regular Session agenda of January 27, 1983.
' A discussion was held concerning a proposed resolution MOTnR VEHICLES HAULING
supporting an Act of the Florida Legislature which re- REFUSE ON HIGHWAYS
moves state axle weight restrictions from motor vehicles
hauling refuse on highways not part of the National System
of Interstate and Defense Highways. This proposed reso-
lution will appear on the next Regular Session agenda of
January 27, 1983.
A discussion was held concerning a proposed Ordinance FLOOD ASMAGE PREVENPION
providing for flood damage prevention within the Cor-
porate limits of The Village of North Palm Beach. The
Council instructed the Village Attorney to draft this
ordinance and it will be placed on 1st reading at the
Regular Session on January 27, 1983.
A discussion was held concerning changes in the Police/ POLICE/FIRE PENSION
Fire Pension Ordinance. The Council concurred that a
Special Workshop meeting should beheld on the changes
to this ordinance on 2/1/83 at 7:30 p.m. in the Con-
ference Room of the Village Hall.
A discussion was held concerning acceptance of the pro- SULFATE AM~DNIA PURCHASE
posal of USS Agri-Chemicals for 10 tons bulk standard
sulfate ammonia in the amount of $112.49 per ton ($1,124.90).
This is to be e~q~ended fran Accamt No. 11.1-572.23
(Fertilizer and Chemicals) for the Crnmtry Club Golf Course.
This item will appear on the next Regular Session agenda
of January 27, 1983.
A discussion was held concerning appointment of a member CHAIRMEN FOR POLICE/FIRE
to the Pension Board for General Employees of the village AND GEN. EMPIAYEES
and appointment of a member to the Pension Board for PENSION BOARD6
Police/Fire employees. Mayor Moore stated that he would
contact Bill Young to see if he would serve an the
Pension Board for General Employees and he would contact
Don Kohl to see if he would serve on the Pension Board

for Police/Fire employees. The Mayor instructed the
village clerk to check the files of individuals who
indicated they would be willing to serve on any village
board in the event that Mr. Young or Mr. Kohl declined.
A discussion was held concerning renewal efforts for the
General Revenue Sharing Program which is scheduled to
expire September 30, 1983. the Council wted 3-1 against
Program -- Pres. Pro Tem Nolan wting for and Moore, Marks
and Valente voting against.
A letter dated 12/9/82 was received from Cotmty Commiss- BIICE TRAIL
Toner District Cpl, Peggy Evatt, where she advised that
ftmds have been allocated from the county fiscal year
82-83 for abike-way program. It was decided tmanimously
that no action should be taken on this Lentil the bill for
paycrent was received.
