12-08-1983 VC WS-MMINUTES OF WORKSHOP SESSION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA HELD THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8, 1983 1 1 1 Present: Tom Valente, Mayor Craig Mundt, President Pro Tem Al Moore, Councilman Harriet Nolan, Councilwoman Raymond J. Howland, .Village Manager Herbert L. Gildan, Village Attorney Joan Bernola, Finance Director Dolores R. Walker, Village Clerk Absent: V. A. Marks, M. D., Vice Mayor Mayor Valente called the Workshop Session to order at 9:25 p.m. ROLL CALL A11 members of the Council were present except Vice Mayor Marks. All members of the staff were nresent_ A discussion was held concerning Bill No. 433, a proposed ordinance amending the North Palm Beach Budget for Fiscal Year 1983-84 by appropriation transfers. These appropriation transfers were necessary to pay the amount of $11,839.36 to Diversified Utility Services, who were engaged by the Village to oppose the Seacoast Utilities rate increase. A discussion was held concerning authorizing the Village Manager to let out to bid the purchase of software fora new computer system. This item will appear on the .regular session agenda of January 12, 1984. A discussion was held concerning using the $1,000 donation from Bruce King Chevrolet towards the purchase of a piano for the North Palm Beach Community Center. This matter has been post- poned indefinitely. A discussion was held concerning renaming the Senior Citizens Building the"Herb Watt Recreation Building." This item will appear on the regular session agenda of January 12, 1984. A discussion was held concerning a.review of revised plans for Gardens Country Day School at AIA, Park Road, and Prosperity Farms Road. The Council instructed the Village .Manager to write a letter to the Palm Beach County Board of Commissioners stating that the Council does not object to the plans for this school. A discussion was held concerning a meeting with the PBA to discuss changes in their pension ordinance. The Village Manager will write to the PBA representative to try to set up a meeting for the purpose of discussing these changes. There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting was adjourned at 9:50 p.m. BILL 433 - AMENDING BUDGET DIVERSIFIED UTILITY SER- VICES PURCHASE OF SOFTWARE FOR NEW COMPUTER SYSTEM DONATION FROM BRUCE KING POSTPONED INDEFINITELY RENAMING SENIOR CITIZENS BLDG.
