Ordinance 162 Regulates Garbage Collection in Commercial Areas.~ u ORDINANCE N0. 162-67 u AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, SETTING FORTH REGULATIONS FOR GARBAGE COLLECTION IN CONNifERCIAL AREAS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1, As used in this Ordinance, the words "commercia.l garbage" shall mean every refuse a.ccumula.tion of animal, fruit, or vegetable matter thaw attends the preparation, use, coo}<ing and dealing in, or storage of meats, fish, fowl, fruits, or vegetables, and any other matter of any nature whatsoever which is subject to decay and the generation of noxious or offensive gases or odors, or which, during or after decay, ma,y serve as breeding or feeding material for flies or other germ-carrying insects. Section 2. Commercial garbage containers required. The occupant of each commercial establishment within the Village shall provide garbage containers which ca.n be utilized by the Village garbage collection units and must meet the approval of the Village Manager. Section 3. All commercial garbage cans shall be kept tightly covered a.t all times, except when necessary to lift the covers for the purpose of depositing ga.rba,ge in the ga.rba.ge can or for the purpose of emptying such garbage into a garbage truck. Section 4. Frequency of collection. All commercial garbage shall be collected by the Village of North Palm Beach a.t least three times a. week, a.nd with greater frequency and in such manner as shall be directed by the Vi1la.ge Manager Section 5. Commercial fee for garbage collection. In the event any commercial ii establishment has more than two cubic yards of garbage a.t any one pickup, the occupant thereof shall pay $1.00 per cubic yard for all ga.rba,ge collected in excess of two cubic yards. In the event any commercial establishment has more than six cubic yards of ga.rba,ge picked up during any one week, the occupant thereof shall pay $1.00 per cubic yard for all garbage collected in excess of six cubic yards per week. All payments required by this Ordinance shall be made to the Vi1la.ge within ten days • • Ordinance No. 162-67 Page two after a statement is rendered to the occupant of a, commercial establishment.
