08-27-1981 VC WS-MMINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP SESSION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA HELD THURSDAY, AUGUST 27, 1981 Present: V. A. Marks, M.D., Mayor Tom Valente, Vice Mayor William H. Brown, President Pro Tem Al Moore, Councilman ' Harriet Nolan, Councilwoman Raymond Howland, Village Manager Herbert Gildan, Village Attorney Dolores R. Walker, Village Clerk Mayor Marks called the Workshop Session to order at ROLL CALL 8:32 p.m.. All members of the Council and Staff were present. A discussion was held concerning a proposed ordinance BILL N0. 383 - repealing Section 26-29 of the Village Code which REPEALING THE section levied a tax on the purchase of electricity, UTILITY TAX fuel oil, metered gas and bottled gas (natural liquefied petroleum gas) within the corporate limits of the Village. This item will be placed on the Regular agenda of 9-10-81. A discussion was held concerning the bid award for BID AWARD - North Palm Beach Country Club dining room and banquet CATHEY'S CUSTOM room drapes to Cathey's Custom Draperies, in the DRAPERIES amount of $3,082.91, to be expended from Account No. 63.1-572-62.11 (Kitchen Renovations). It was agreed that corrections be made to the Resolution stating the drapes should not be installed until the sprinkler ' system, air conditioning and other work be completed. This item will be placed on the Regular agenda of 9-10-81, with the Resolution reflecting these corrections. A discussion was held concerning authorizing the Village NPBCC GOLF Manager to go out for bid for the following items, to COURSE PURCHASES be expended from the Golf Course Assessment Account: ITEM AMOUNT ACCOUNT NUMBER Scow body installation $2600. 62.2-572-64.10 Fairway vacuum 5900. 62.2-572-64.10 Sixty cart baskets At $12.50 each 750. 62.2-572-64.10 Rake holder and rakes 750. 62.2-572-64.10 This item will be placed on the Regular agenda of 9-10-81. A discussion was held concerning the possibility of LAKESIDE PARK purchasing and planting mangroves to improve the AREA situation in the Lakeside Park area. It was the consensus of the Council to have the Village Manager and Village Attorney look into drawing up an ' Ordinance regarding this matter.
