AN ORDINANCE OF TAE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE
' N0. 121-65, THE OFFENSES ORDINANCE, BY CHANGING THE NOTICE REQUIRED TO PERSDNS WHOSE
PROPERTY HAS WEEDS THEREON IN EXCESS OF EIGHTEEN INCHES IN HEIGHT BY PROVIDING FOR
ANNUAL NOTICE ONLY, AND PROVIDING EXCEPTIONS THERETO.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM REACH, FLORIDA:

Section 1. Section 5(1)(x) of Ordinance No. 121-65 be, and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"5(1)(x) Notice to destrov. The Village Manager is hereby authorized
and directed to notify in writing the owner of any such lot, place or
area within the Village or the agent of such owner to cut, destroy and/or
remove any such weeds which are eighteen inches in height or over, from
growing, lying or located in such owner+s property, or upon the sidewalk
abutting same. Such notice shall be by registered mail addressed to said
owner or owner+s agent at his last known address and shall be sent one
time each year on or about April 1st, advising said owner or owner+s-agent
of the necessity to cut, destroy and/or remove any such weeds which are in
violation of this ordinance throughout the forthcoming year at any and all
times that such weeds exceed eighteen inches. No other notice shall be
sent hereunder unless the owner or owner+s agent requests such notice in
writing. If such written request is made, the Village Manager shall notify
said owner or owner+s agent each time weeds on his property reach eighteen
inches by direct mail and shall wait Five days from date of mailing far the
weeds to be cut, destroyed and/or removed before proceeding as set forth
in Section 5(1)(b) of this Ordinance.
Section 2. Section 5(1)(b) of Ordinance No. 121-65 be, and the same is hereby,
amended to read as follows:
"5(1)(b) Action upon non-compliance. Upon the Failure, neglect or refusal.
of any owner or agent so notified, to cut, destroy and/or remove weeds which
are eighteen inches in height or over, growing, lying, or located upon such
owner+s property, or upon the sidewalk abutting same, the Village Manager
is hereby authorized and empowered to pay for the cutting, destroying and/or
removal of such weeds which are eighteen inches in height or over, or to
order the removal by the Village employees,°
