Ordinance 123 Height, Design & Location of Signs Amendment.-, u ORDINANCE N0. 123- 1965 AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PAIbIC RT+'ACH, FLORIDA, A1~NI~ING ORDINANCE N0. 33 BY REVISING THE HEIGHT, DESIGN AND LOCATION OF CEE~TN SIGNS TO BE ERECTED IN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PAIM RTiACH, FLORIDA. -x- ~- ~ BE IT ORDAINED BY TAE VILLAGE COIINCIL OF NORTH PAI1ll[ BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. Ordinance No. 33, Section 7 is hereby amended by adding thereto the following: "All signs and. advertising structures with a single display surface in excess of thirty-five (35) square feet shall be de- signed by a Florida Registered Engineer or Architect and draw- ings shall bear his seal and. signature." Section 2. Ordinance No. 33, Section 14 is hereby amended by deleting the following words from paragraph one thereof: " R-2 (Multiple Family Dwelling District) and R-3 (Apartment Dwelling District)." and is hereby i~arther amended by adding a fourth paragraph to read as follows: "In areas zoned R-2 and R-3, only on-site signs shall be per- mitted. The maximum si~.gle display surface shall not exceed thirty (30) square feet." Section 3. Ordinance No. 33, Section 18 is hereby amended by delet- ing the paragraph described as (c) Location, (1) Hei t Limitation, and sub- stituting therefor the following: "(1) Height Limitaticn. C-7~. and C-l: In areas zoned C-]~. and C-1, the maximum total height of any ground sign shall be thirty-five (35) feet above the adjacent street level or adjoining ground level, if such ground level is above the street level. In areas zoned R-2 and RR=3, the maxirrn~m total height of any ground sign shall be eight (8) feet above adjacent street level or adjoin- ing ground level if such ground level is above street level." n u Said paragraph (c) is hereby further amended in sub-section 2, by adding the words: " . subject to the approval of the J3uilCll~.g ur~~icial. Section 4. Ordinance No. 33, Section 20 is hereby amended by deleting from paragraph (c) (1) Height and Area Limitations, the following: " nor have its highest point extend moretthan twenty (20) feet above roof level" and by substituting therefor the following: " nor have its highest point extend more than. thirty-five (35).feet above ground level." • Ordinance No. 123_196b Page 2 Section 5. Ordinance No. 33, Section 22 is hereby amended by deleting from paragraph (b) (1) Materials and Area Limitations, the following: " . four (4) feet in one of its dimensions or . ." and is further amended in paragraph (c) Duration of Permits, by deleting the following: " . Thirty (30) days ." and by substituting therefor the following: " . Six (6) months and may be renewed upon satisfactory • evident of the need and upon the approval of the Building Official," and is further amended in paragraph (d) Advertising Permitted, by adding to the last sentence the following: . . or billboards and off-site promotional development signs." and is further amended by adding paragraph (e) to be known as the follows: "(e) Billboards and Promotional Develo-praent Si~n.s. The advertising contained on any temporary signs shall pertain only to the business, industry, development or pursuit conducted. on the premises on which the sign is erected or maintained." and is further amended by adding paragraph (f) to be known as follows: "(f) Off-Site Billboards and Promotional Develor~ment Sims. Temporary off-site billboards and promotional signs that pertain only to a business, industry, development or pursuit to be conducted and maintained within the corporate Village limits will be permitted only upon proper application, ad- herence to structural requirements as set forth in this ordinance, and. upon approval of the Building Official."
