AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, ASSESSING AND IMPOSING A
ONE (I) PER CENT E%CISE TAX ON CASUALTY INSURANCE PREMIUMS FOR PAYMENT TO MUNICIPAL POLICE
OFFICERS RETIREMENT TRUST FUND.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH P-ALM BEACH, FLORIDA, that:
' + Section 1. In accordance with Chapter 185.08, Florida Statutes, the Village of
North Palm Beach does hereby assess and impose on every insurance company, corporation or
other insurer now engaged in or carrying on, or who shall hereafter engage in or carry on the
business of casualty insurance as shown by the records of the State Treasurer in his capacity
• as State Insurance Commissioner, an excise tax now levied by the Village of North Palm Beach
amounting to ONE (1) PERCENT of the gross amount of receipts of premiums from policyholders
on all premiums collected on casualty insurance policies covering property within the
corporate limits of the Village of North Palm Beach.
Section 2. An emergency exists requiring the passage o£ this Ordinance on one night
in that the excise tax must be assessed amd imposed prior to March 1 of each year and there
shall be no additional regular meeting of the Village o£ North Palm Beach betwesn-.tonight and
the first of March.
