A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, SETTING FORTH A POLICY FOR SETTLING LAWSUITS
WHEREIN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH IS A DEFENDANT; PROVIDING
FOR THE TYPE AND AMOUNTS OF SETTLEMENT REQUIRING APPROVAL BY
THE VILLAGE COUNCIL; REPEALING RESOLUTION 39-2003 OF THE VILLAGE;
AND, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, does hereby set
forth a policy that in lawsuits wherein the Village of North Palm Beach is a defendant, Village
Council approval will first be required for lawsuit settlements that exceed Ten Thousand
($10,000.00) Dollars wherein the loss is not insured and for lawsuit settlements that exceed
Twenty-Five Thousand ($25,000.00) Dollars wherein the loss is insured.
Section 2. Resolution 39-2003 of the Village of North Palm Beach is hereby repealed.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 10th DAY OF MARCH, 2005.
