AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING ARTICLE II, FLORIDA FIRE PREVENTION CODE, OF
CHAPTER 12, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE BY CREATING
SECTION 12-17, FIRE INSPECTION FEE SCHEDULE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Article II, Florida Fire Prevention Code, of Chapter 12, of the Code of Ordinances
ofthe Village is hereby amended by creating Section 12-17, Fire Inspection Fee Schedule, which
section is to read as follows:
"Section 12-17, Fire Inspection Fee Schedule
Effective October 1, 2006, the following annual fire inspection fees are hereby
established for both new and existing buildings inspected under the provisions of the Code of
Ordinances:
Assembly
Occupancy of:
50-299 $ 50.00
300 - 999 $ 75.00
1, 000 - 4, 900 $ 150.00
5,000 or greater $ 250.00
Educational
Day Care, Nursery Pre-school $ 35.00
All others $ 75.00
Healthcare/Institutional
5,000 square feet and under $ 50.00
5,001 - 15,000 square feet $ 100.00
15,001 - 30,000 square feet $ 150.00
30,001 - 100,000 square feet $ 250.00
100,001 square feet or greater $ 350.00
Transient Lodging, Apartment, Residential Board & Care, and Adult Living Facilities
24 units and less $ 50.00
25 - 100 units $ 75.00
101 - 500 units $ 150.00
501 units or greater $ 250.00
Mercantile, Office, Storage, Industrial and Manufacturing
5,000 square feet and under $ 35.00
5,001 - 15,000 square feet $ 50.00
15,001 - 30,000 square feet $ 75.00
30,001 - 100,000 square feet $ 150.00
100,001 square feet or greater $ 250.00
Marinas and Boat Storage Facilities
50 boat slips and under $ 50.00
51 - 100 boat slips $ 150.00
101 - 250 boat slips $ 200.00
251 boat slips or greater $ 300.00
Tent and Temporary Structures
All $ 35.00
There shall be a Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollar charge for each re-inspection which requires an
additional trip to a building or job site by a fire inspector. This fee shall be applicable to new
construction and existing buildings."
Section 2. The effective date for collection of fire inspection fees is October 1, 2006, and on
an annual basis thereafter and to be made a part of the Occupational License and paid therewith.
Section 3. If any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance is for
any reason held by a Court to be unconstitutional, inoperative or void, such holding shall not
affect the remainder of this Ordinance.

Section 4. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage.
