AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUIRING PEFU~IITS FOR DOGS RUNNING AT LARGE; LEVYING A DOG
LICENSE TAX; REQUIRING THAT RABIES INOCULATION BE A PREREQUISITE FOR THE
ISSUANCE OF SUCH LICENSE TAG; REQUIRING THE DISPLAY OF SUCH DOG LICENSE TAG;
AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF SUCH ORDINANCE.

BE IT ORDAINE]) BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. P.=_rmit required for dogs running at large.
It shall be unlawful for any person owning or having cus-
tody of any dog to suffer or permit such dog to run at large within the Village
limits without first having obtained a permit for such dog from the police depart-
ment of the Village as provided in the following section.
Section 2. Dog license tag -- A~lication• date; required informa-
tion• rabies inoculation prerequisite.
Prior to the first day of January of each year, the owner or
person having custody of any dog within the Village shall apply to the police
department of the Village for a dog license tag. Such owner or person having
custody of the dog shall furnish the police department with evidence, such as a
certificate from a licensed veterinarian, that such dog has been inoculated for
rabies within the past sixty ..days. The application for a dog license shall show
the name, age, sex and breed of the dog, the owner or custodian, the address of
the owner or custodian, and the last date of inoculation for rabies.
Section 3. Same -- Fee• issuance; material of and information

The fee for the dog license shall be one dollar, and upon

regeipt of the same, the police department shall issue to the applicant a dog
license tag, made of metal, which shall have stamped thereon the words "North
Palm Beach" and the year foz~ which the same is issued, and shall bear an individ-
ual serial number.
Section 4. Same -- Fastening around neck; dogs running at large
without tag; attaching without applying for license.
The clog license tag, as issued in the manner stated in the
preceding section, shall be securely fastened about the neck of the dog for which

the license tag was issued, and no dog shall be permitted to run at large within
the Village without such tag. It shall be unlawful for any person to attach such
' dog license tag about the nea3; of any dog for which no application for license has
been made as set forth above.
Section S. Any person who shall be convicted of violating this
ordinance shall pay a fine of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or shall be imprisoned
' for sixty (60) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
