1. RESOLUTION – APPOINTING INTERIM COUNCILMEMBER Consider a motion to adopt a
resolution appointing a successor to fill a vacancy on the Village Council on an interim basis.
ADJOURNMENT
If a person decides to appeal any decision by the Village Council with respect to any matter considered at the Village Council meeting,
he will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose he may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made,
which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based (F.S. 286.0105).
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, any person who may require special accommodation to participate in this meeting
should contact the Village Clerk’s office at 841-3355 at least 72 hours prior to the meeting date.
This agenda represents the tentative agenda for the scheduled meeting of the Village Council. Due to the nature of governmental duties
and responsibilities, the Village Council reserves the right to make additions to, or deletions from, the items contained in this agenda.
RESOLUTION 2023-____
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPOINTING A SUCCESSOR TO FILL A
VACANCY ON THE VILLAGE COUNCIL ON AN INTERIM BASIS; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, due to the resignation of Councilman Mark Mullinix on December 15, 2023, the office
of Council member for Group 5 is currently vacant; and
WHEREAS, Article III, Section 5(c)(1) of the Village Charter provides that if there are less than six
(6) months remaining in the unexpired term or if there are less than six (6) months before the next
regular village election, the council by a majority vote of the remaining members shall choose a
successor to serve until the newly elected council member is qualified.
WHEREAS, the Village Council wishes to fill the vacant seat on the Village Council on an interim
basis until such time as a new Councilmember is elected for Group 5 in accordance with the Village
Charter requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are ratified and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby appoints the following person to serve as a member of
the Village Council on an interim basis until the newly elected Council member for Group 5 is
qualified by election:

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
