RESOLUTION NO. 9-98
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING STAFF TO MAKE
APPLICATION TO FLORIDA INLAND NAVIGATION
DISTRICT FOR A GRANT AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
IN THE PROJECT OF PURCHASING A WATERWAY PATROL
AND RESCUE VESSEL; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village Council is desirous of carrying out
a project for the citizenry of the Village of North Palm Beach and
the State of Florida as follows:
Project Title: Waterway Patrol and Rescue Vessel
• Total Estimated Cost: $44,078.00
Brief Description of Project: 25 foot Contender with
twin 150 H.P. engines and trailer and,
WHEREAS, Florida Inland Navigation District financial
assistance is required for the project mentioned above.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village Council of the Village of North
Palm Beach, Florida, does hereby authorize and direct staff to make
application to Florida Inland Navigation District for a grant and
financial assistance in the amount of sixty-nine (69) percent of
the actual cost of the project specified above.
• Section 2. The Village of North Palm Beach will accept
the terms and conditions set forth in FIND Rule 66B-2 F.A.C. and
which will be a part of the Project Agreement for the assistance
• awarded under the attached proposal.
Section 3. The Village is in complete accord with the
attached proposal and specification attached thereto unless prior
approval for any change has been received from the District.
Section 4. That the Village of North Palm Beach has the
ability and intention to finance its share of the cost of the
project and that the project will be operated and maintained at the
expense of said Village of North Palm Beach for public use.
Section 5. That the Village of North Palm Beach will not
discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color or
national origin in the use of any property or facility acquired or
developed pursuant to this proposal, and shall comply with the
• terms and intent of the Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964,
P.L. 88-352(1964) and design and construct all facilities to comply
fully with statutes relating to accessibility by handicapped
persons as well as other federal, state and local laws, rules and
requirements.
Section 6. That the Village of North Palm Beach will
maintain adequate financial records on the proposed project to
substantiate claims for reimbursement.
Section 7. That the Village of North Palm Beach will
make available to FIND, if requested, a post-audit of expenses
incurred on the project prior to, or in conjunction with, request
for the final 10~ of the funding agreed to by FIND.
Section 8. This resolution shall take effect immediately
• upon its adoption.
