1998-025 Opposes Extension of Congress Avenue
RESOLUTION N0. 25-98
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, OPPOSING
THE PROPOSAL OF METROPOLITAN PLANNING
ORGANIZATION TO EXTEND CONGRESS AVENUE FROM
NORTHLAKE BOULEVARD VIA RICHARDS ROAD TO
ALTERNATE AIA HIGHWAY; AND, PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Planning Organization proposes to
extend Congress Avenue from Northlake Boulevard to Alternate AlA
Highway; and
• WHEREAS, the Village Council believes that the extension of
Congress Avenue from Northlake Boulevard to Alternate AIA Highway
would result in undesirable usage of property adjacent to the new
roadway, such as development of industrial parks and similar uses
that would have negative impacts on the Village of North Palm
Beach.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village Council of the Village of North
Palm Beach, Florida, does hereby oppose the proposal of
Metropolitan Planning Organization to extend Congress Avenue from
Northlake Boulevard via Richards Road to Alternate AlA Highway.
• Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption.
