Village’s boards and committees.

This agenda represents the tentative agenda for the scheduled meeting of the Village Council. Due to the nature of governmental duties
and responsibilities, the Village Council reserves the right to make additions to, or deletions from, the items contained in this agenda.

SUBJECT: DISCUSSION – Boards and Committees Appointment Process and Provisions
As a result of previous Workshop Sessions regarding the Village’s boards and committees in 2018, the
Village Council adopted and enacted on 2nd reading Ordinance 2019-01 on March 14, 2019. The
ordinance amended the Village Code Provisions relating to Village Boards and Committees, increased
the membership and eliminated alternate members, revised the procedural requirements, eliminated the
Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals, required the Planning Commission to assume the duties
of the Board of Adjustment, and created a new Environmental Advisory Board.
Since the adoption of Ordinance 2019-01, members of the Village Council have expressed interest in further
evaluating the appointment process, provisions, operations and goals of the Village’s boards and committees.
Recommendation:
Village Staff is requesting Village Council guidance and input on possible changes to the
appointment process, provisions, operations and goals for Village boards and committees.
