1995-036 NAGE Amendment~i I RESOLUTION NO. 36-95 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH (VILLAGE) AND THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES (NAGS) OF MARCH 24, 1994, WHICH AMENDMENT IS ATTACHED AS EXHIBIT "A"; AND, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Village Manager and National Association of Government Employees (NAGS) have completed negotiations to amend Article XII-Insurance Benefits and Article XXXIII--Salary to the agreement between Village and NAGS of March 24, 1994; and WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach is in agreement with the proposed amendments as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached to this Resolution. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach does hereby approve the amendments set forth in Exhibit "A" to the agreement between Village and NAGE of March 24, 1994. Section 2. The Mayor and Village Manager are hereby authorized and directed to execute the amendments set forth in I~ L~J ~J Exhibit "A" for and on behalf of the Village of North Palm Beach. Section 3. MAYOR ' EXHIBIT "A" AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH and NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES 1 ' This Amendment to the Agreement between THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH and the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES dated March 24, 1994, is effective the 1st day of October, 1994, by the Employer, THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,. a municipal organization, hereinafter referred to as "VILLAGE", and the NATIONAL ASSOCATION OF GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES, hereinafter referred to as "NAGE". n 1 2 Article XII - Insurance Benefits is hereby amended to read: ' Section 1. The VILLAGE will continue to pay one hundred percent (1008) of the Employee's Individual Health Insurance Coverage including the dental plan, and will continue to pay fifty percent (50~) of the Employee's Dependents' Coverage including the dental plan. Section 2. The VILLAGE will continue to provide and pay for Employee's Life & Accidental Death Insurance in the amount of one (1) time the Employee's Annual Salary rounded to the nearest One Thousand Dollars, with a maximum of $50,000. Section 3. Effective October 1, 1995, the VILLAGE will make available a Prescription Drug Plan as follows: Prescription drugs that are purchased at participating ' pharmacies will be discounted. For example, if an Employee purchases a generic drug, the pharmacist will collect $4.00 from the employee and the remaining amount will be billed to the insurer. The co-payments paid by the Employees are not applied to the deductible under the medical plan. Employees will have the option of electing or rejecting the Prescription Drug Card. If elected, all prescription drugs must be purchased with the card. if rejected, claims may be submitted to the insurer and will be processed accordingly. The election or rejection of the card will remain in effect for the entire plan year. Section 4. The VILLAGE shall retain the right to determine the insurance carrier or it may self-insure if it so desires. 3 Article XXXIII - Salarv is hereby amended to read: ' Each Employee currently in the bargaining unit as of the date of adoption of this Amendment to Agreement by the Village Council shall receive, effective October 1, 1994, a salary as set forth in the attached salary schedule which reflects the implementation of the Wage and Pay Plan Study for THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH by Cody & Associates, Inc., which implementation adjusts salaries to the minimum rate of the Employee's pay range, and ao7usts the salary of any Employee who has one or more years of service, and also includes a three and one half percent (3 1/20) pay increase to the base salary. During future negotiations between the parties, the bargaining ' unit will consider Employee Performance Evaluations in connection with a potential job survey as a means for determining future raises to salary. r~ 4 IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties have set their hands and seals I` l__J n I..J ~'~ this 94th day of AUGUST 1995.
