A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A STUDENT CRIME
STOPPERS PROGRAM IN MIDDLE SCHOOLS, HIGH SCHOOLS AND ALTERNATIVE
SCHOOLS WITHIN PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR THE
REPEAL OF ALL RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND, PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County is establishing a Student Crime
Stoppers Program within middle schools, high schools and alternative schools
within Palm Beach County, Florida and;
WHEREAS, the Student Crime Stoppers Program will make available to students
an anonymous, non-traceable telephone line for use in reporting the commission
of crime within the schools as well as the community; and
WHEREAS, the Student Crime Stoppers Program should result in deterrence of
crime, violence and drug use within school systems within Palm Beach County,
N'lorida; and
WHEREAS, the Student Crime Stoppers Program has been developed and will be
' implemented to safeguard and protect the identity of students who report crime
and will provide for a reward if a tip leads to an arrest or confiscation of stolen
property or drugs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village Council of the .Village of North Palm Beach, Florida,
supports the establishment of a Student Crime Stoppers Program in middle
schools, high schools and alternative schools within Palm Beach County, Florida.
Section 2. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
Section 3. This Resolution shall be effective upon its adoption.
