A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, ENDORSING THE
RECOMMENDATION OF THE PALM BEACH
COUNTY LAND USE ADVISORY BOARD THAT
THE PALM BEACH COUNTY COMMISSION NOT
AMEND THE COUNTY'S COMPREHENSIVE
PLAN AND KEEP CERTAIN PROPERTIES
KNOWN AS THE SOUTHWEST NEIGHBORHOOD
AND ADJACENT TO THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM BEACH AS RESIDENTIAL; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, there are certain properties in the vicinity of
Park Road in what is described as the Southwest Neighborhood and
adjacent to the Village_of North Palm Beach that have submitted as
an application for amendment to the Palm Beach County Comprehensive
Plan changing the use of the property from residential to
commercial; and
WHEREAS, said application has gone before the Palm Beach
County Land Use Advisory Board (LUAB) for their consideration and
the LUAB has recommended to the Palm Beach County Commission not to
amend the County's Comprehensive Plan keeping the properties
residential; and
WHEREAS, the LUAB recommendation is advisory only and is
submitted to the County Commission in their capacity as the local
planning agency for their action; and
WHEREAS, the same properties are located in a
neighborhood that is currently in the process of annexation into
' the Village of North Palm Beach; and

WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of North Palm
Beach has initiated the annexation process and anticipates a
referendum no later than Tuesday, November 8, 1994; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of North Palm
Beach fully endorses the recommendation of the Land Use Advisory
Board and desires to place the Palm Beach County Commission on
notice that the Village is pursuing annexation; and
WHEREAS, if the annexation referendum passes and the
properties incorporate into the Village of North Palm Beach, then
the North Palm Beach Comprehensive Plan would be the governing
document for these properties.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village Council of the Village of North
Palm Beach does hereby endorse the Palm Beach County Land Use
Advisory Board's recommendation that the Palm Beach County
Commission not amend the County's Comprehensive Plan and keep
certain properties known as the Southwest Neighborhood and adjacent
to the Village as residential.
Section 2. The County Commission in their capacity as
the Local Planning Agency be noticed that the Village of North Palm
Beach is in the process of annexing those properties into the
Village and should the annexation succeed, will eventually become
subject to the Village's Comprehensive Plan.

Section 3. The Village hereby directed to
furnish a certified copy of this .., ..,,.. ".,,, to the Palm Beach
County Commission.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption.
