1993-056 Cable TV Complaints to be Filed with FCC RESOLUTION NO. 56-93 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO FILE COMPLAINTS WITH THE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION (FCC) TO INITIATE A REVIEW OF THE REASONABLENESS OF UPPER TIER CABLE TELEVISION RATES AND PROVIDING FOR SERVICE OF SAID COMPLAINTS UPON THE CABLE TELEVISION OPERATOR DOING BUSINESS IN THE VILLAGE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of North Palm ' Beach, Florida, makes the following findings: A. FCC Cable television rate regulations went into effect on September 1, 1993; and B. To protect cable television subscribers in the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, from excessive charges, it is advisable for the Village to initiate a review by the FCC of upper tier cable television rates within the Village; and C. This FCC review can only be initiated by the filing of an FCC Form 329, "Cable Programming Service Rate Complaint Form," with the Federal Communications Commission. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA THAT: Section 1. The Mayor is authorized to complete and file with the Federal Communications Commission an FCC Form 329 seeking FCC review of the cable television rates charged by the 1 cable television operator doing business in the Village. The Mayor shall file the FCC Form 329 with the FCC by certified mail, return receipt requested, and shall simultaneously mail a copy of the FCC Form 329 to the cable television operator via certified mail, return receipt requested.
