A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE PERSONNEL
REGULATIONS FOR THE VILLAGE ADOPTED BY
RESOLUTION NO. 17-82 BY ESTABLISHING AND SPECIFYING
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SCHEDULING OF VACATIONS; PROVIDING
FOR ACCUMULATION OF EARNED ANNUAL LEAVE; PROVIDING FOR
THE REPEAL OF ALL PARTS OF THE PERSONNEL REGULATIONS
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE HEREOF.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Subsection "a" of Section 10.01 of the
Personnel Regulations of the Village is hereby amended to read as
follows:
' "(a) General. The Village determines and
schedules the v acation period of each employee eligible
for a vacation. Consideration is given where
possible to the preference of the employee as to the
time of his or her vacation.
No one shall take a vacation of such length
as to jeopardize the effectiveness of the duties
of that position. The Department Head and/or the
Village Manager shall determine, based on the conditions
specific to the period sought for the vacation, whether
or not the length of the vacation is appropriate. If
deemed inappropriate, the Department Head or the Village
Manager may limit the length of any given vacation
request."
Section 2. Subsection "d" of Section 10.01 b)3 of the
Personnel Regulations of the Village is hereby amended to read as
follows:
t "(d) Earned annual leave must be used during the
fiscal year in which it is eligible to be taken.
It may be carried to the following fiscal year and
must be used during that fiscal year or it is lost."
' Section 3. All parts of the Personnel Regulations in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption.
