A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, TO COMMEMORATE ALFRED J. McKENNA, TO OFFER CONDOLENCES TO HIS
FAMILY AND TO RECOGNIZE THE CONTRIBUTION MADE BY HIM TO THE VILLAGE, AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, Alfred J. McKenna was born in Detroit, Michigan, October 3,
1911 and passed away in Palm Beach Gardens, September 22, 1991; and
WHEREAS, Alfred J. McKenna held a Bachelor's and Masters degree in
Education and taught high school and college music for 38 years; and
WHEREAS, Alfred J. McKenna exemplified the finest tradition of
community involvement and particlpation through h1s dedicated leadership
as Director of the North Palm Beach Community Band for the past eight
years; and
WHEREAS, Alfred J. McKenna promoted the enjoyment of music by
providing the Village with bountiful musical entertainment and sharing
the benefits of his education and experience through his teaching.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED SY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE
OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
' Section 1. The Village of North Palm Beach hereby commemorates
Alfred J. McKenna for his dedication and participation to the Village and
extends heartfelt condolences to the McKenna family for their loss.
Section 2. The Village of North Palm Beach is profoundly grateful
to Alfred McKenna for his interest in forming and promoting the North
Palm Beach Community Dance Band and his generous contribution to our
community, and the music profession as a teacher, entertainer and
musician.
Section 3. This Resolution shall be certified and delivered by the
Village Clerk to the family of Alfred J. McKenna and to other persons
deemed appropriate by the Village Council.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 10th DAY OF OCTOBER 1991.
