Raymond James Howland obituary 10-18-98RAYMOND JAMES HOWLAND "Ray" Age 69 of North Palm Beach, Florida passed away suddenly Sunday, October 18, 19% on his bicycle in Mt. Dora, Florida. Mr. Howland was born May 17, 1929 in Detroit Michigan, son of -the late Daniel Howland and Madeline McCarthy. He had been a resident of the Palm Beaches for the past sixteen years. Mr. Howland was a graduate of Alfred University, Alfred, New York where he received his B.A. Degree in Business Administration. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with, the U.S. Army. Mr. Howland was the Village Manager of North Palm Beach for ten years (1982-1992). He stayed active in his retirement as Chairman of the Seacoast Utility Authority, President of the West Palm Beach Bicycle Club and playing and coaching softball. He was active communicant of St. Clare Catholic Church. Mr. Howland leaves to cherish his loving memory his beloved wife Edith "Edie" Wills Howland, his devoted children Michael Howland and wife Cathy of Oakton, VA, Victoria "Vicky" Lounsbury and husband David of Liverpool, NY, Steven Howland and wife Yolanda of San Lorenzo, CA, Valerie Howland of Elmira Heights, NY; his loving sisters, Mrs.. Barbara Peters of San Antonio, TX and Mrs. ElaiSit' ZONamara of Lady Lake, FL; his adored grandchildren James, Christopher, Madeline, Peter, Jennifer and Sarah. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, October 21, 1998 at the WM. N. HOWARD FUNERAL HOME, 754 U.S. Highway #1, North Palm Beach where a wake service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 22, 1998 at St. Clare Catholic Church, 821 Prosperity Farms Rd., North Palm Beach with Rev. Fr. William O'Shea as celebrant. Interment Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery.
