A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, DESIGNATING THE SHUFFLEBOARD COURTS LOCATED AT TH8 HERB
WATT BUILDING AS THS PAUL W. BOSSI MEMORIAL SHUFFLEBOARD COURTS.
' WHEREAS, in 1960 eighteen people formed the North Palm Beach
Shuffleboard and Senior Club; and
WHEREAS, in 1961 Paul Bossi joined this group and was made
Treasurer and Shuffleboard Director of the Senior Group; and
WHEREAS, Paul Bossi remained the Director of shuffleboard
intermittently from 1961 to 1985, and ae the membership continued
to grow, the building, in 1970, was expanded to twice its original
size; and
WHEREAS, in competition with other shuffleboard groups, the
North Palm Beach Club received the most trophies, under the
directlon of Paul Sossi; and
WHEREAS, in 1975, Paul Bossi and hie wife, Dorothy, were
instrumental, along with one other couple, in starting pinochle in
conjunction with bridge on Friday nights at the Club, and this grew
to over 150 card playing members; and
WHEREAS, Paul Bossi was not only Director of Shuffleboard
Tournaments, but was also in charge of pinochle games and
tournaments, plus being on publicity for all those years and
performed all these jobs in a meticulous and efficient manner; and
WHBRSAS, Paul W. Bossi passed away on December 11, 1987 at the
age of ninety-five;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THB VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That in recognition of the outstanding
achievements contributed by Paul W. Bossi, the Village Council of
North Palm Beach do hereby designate the Shuffleboard Courts at the
Herb watt Building as the Paul W. Bossi Memorial Shuffleboard
Courts.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adopt on.
