PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, IN OPPOSITION TO THE
PROPOSED REFERENDUM BY THE PALI4 BEACH COUNTY
BOARD OF COUNTY C0IR4ISSI0NERS FOR ADOPTION
OF A ONE PERCENT (1%) SALES TAX FOR A TEN
' YEAR PERIOD WITH TAX i4ONIES TO BE UTILIZED
FOR FUNDING OF COURTS AND JAILS, ENVIR0Ni4ENTAL
LAND AND ROAll PROGRAM; AND AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE VILLAGE CLERK TO FORWARD A
CERTIFIED COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE
BOARD OF COUNTY COI~II4ISSI0NERS AND PALI4 BEACH
COUNTY MUNICIPAL LEAGUE, AND SUCH OTHER PERSONS
AS T1iE MAYOR MAY DIRECT; AIdD, PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
IJ1iEREAS, the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners
proposes a Referendum for adoption of a One Percent (1%) sales
tax for a ten year period with tax monies to be utilized for
funding of courts and jails, environmental land and road program;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALI4
BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village Council of the Village of North
' Palm Beach`Florida, opposes the proposed Referendum for adoption
of a One Percent (1%) sales tax for a ten year period with tax
monies to be utilized for funding of courts and jails, environmental
land and road program.
Section 2. The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to for~oard a certified copy of this Resolution to the
Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, Palm Beach County
Municipal League, anal such other persons as the Mayor may direct.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
