PUBLIC SERVANT MENTAL HEALTH WEEK &
MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH
WHEREAS, mental health is essential to everyone's overall health and well-being; and
WHEREAS, public servants and first responders are facing challenges in work and life that can impact
their mental health, especially during a pandemic; and
WHEREAS, in politics there is still a stigma associated with anyone who has sought or is seeking mental
health treatment; and
WHEREAS, prevention is an effective way to reduce the burden of mental health conditions; and
WHEREAS, there are practical tools and coping skills that all people can use to improve their mental
health and increase resiliency; and
WHEREAS, mental health conditions are real and prevalent in our nation; and
WHEREAS, with effective support and treatment, those individuals with mental health conditions can
lead resilient, full and balanced lives; and
WHEREAS, PolitiCALM is on a mission to support and improve the lives of public servants by providing
expert professional coaching services and better access to mental health professionals anywhere, anytime
through our online platforms to better equip them to serve their communities; and
WHEREAS, PolitiCALM implores each business, school, government agency, health care provider,
organization and citizen to share the burden of mental health problems and have a responsibility to
promote mental wellness and support prevention and treatment efforts; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Darryl Aubrey, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Village of
North Palm Beach, hereby proclaim May 10 -14th as Public Servant Mental Health Week and May 2021 as
Mental Health Awareness Month in the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, and call upon the citizens,
government agencies, public and private institutions, businesses, and schools to commit our community to
increasing awareness and understanding of mental health, the steps our citizens can take to protect their
mental health, and the need for appropriate and accessible services for all people with mental health
conditions.
