R2021-17 Amending Resolution 2020-25 to Provide Additional Leave Bank Hours for Village EmployeesRESOLUTION NO. 2021-17
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION 2020-25 TO PROVIDE FOR
ADDITIONAL LEAVE BANK HOURS FOR VILLAGE EMPLOYEES DUE TO THE
COVID-19 PANDEMIC; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, through the adoption of Resolution 2020-25 on March 17, 2020, the Village Council
adopted a compensation policy establishing an Administrative Leave Bank for Village employees to
ensure that eligible employees have the opportunity to stay at home in order to protect their health and
the health of their co-workers should they experience COVID-19 symptoms or need to self -quarantine
due to exposure to the virus; and
WHEREAS, Village Staff is recommending an additional forty-eight (48) hours of administrative leave
for regular full-time employees and an additional twenty (20) hours for regular part-time employees
(excluding school crossing guards, seasonal and temporary employees); and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that that adoption of this Resolution is in the interest of the
public health, safety and welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are ratified and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby amends Resolution No. 2020-25 to provide for additional
administrative leave bank hours for Village employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic as set forth in
the Administrative Leave Bank COVID-19 Policy attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
These leave bank hours are supplemental to the administrative leave bank hours granted by Resolution
No. 2020-25.
Section 3. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are hereby repealed
to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption
