A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OOUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIL]4,
SUPPORTING THE PASSAGE OF THE SEVEN SINGLE-ME2~ER DISTRICT CHARTER AMENDMENT'
WHICH WILL APPEAR CN THE NOVEMBER 6, 1988 BALLOT.
WHEREAS, under Florida law the voters of a county have the right to
determine what form of county government is responsive to their needst and
WHEREAS, a county wide planning conference, Directions '88, also
recommends that this question be placed before Palm Beach County voters; and
WHEREAS, the Coalition for the Right to Vote organized a countywide
petition drive to gain sufficient signatures to place the seven single-member
districts question on the November 8 ballots and
WHEREAS, The Supervisor of Elections has .issued an official
certification verifyirg that the submitted petitions were sufficient to place
the single-member. district issue on the ballots
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PAU7
BEACH, FIARIIXI:
Section 1. The Village Council of North Palm Beach does hereby
support passage o~-the Seven Single-Member district charter amendment which will
appear on the November 8, 1988 ballot in Palm Heach County, Florida.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
passage.
