R2020-17 Amendment to Comprehensive Pay PlanRESOLUTION 2020-17 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE PAY PLAN ADOPTED AS PART OF THE FISCAL YEAR 2020 BUDGET TO INCLUDE THE POSITION OF DEPUTY POLICE CHIEF AND INCREASE THE RANGE FOR MERIT INCREASES FOR DEPUTY POLICE CHIEF AND POLICE CAPTAIN; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, through the adoption of Ordinance No. 2019-10 ("Budget Ordinance") on September 26, 2019, the Village Council adopted the Comprehensive Pay Plan as part of the annual budget for Fiscal Year 2020; and WHEREAS, Section 5 of the Budget Ordinance authorizes the Village Council to revise the Comprehensive Pay Plan by Resolution during the course of the Fiscal Year; and WHEREAS, at the recommendation of Village Staff, the Village Council wishes to amend the Comprehensive Pay Plan to include the position of Deputy Police Chief and increase the range of merit increases for the positions of Deputy Police Chief and Police Captain; and WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the adoption of this Resolution is in the best interests of the Village and its residents. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA as follows: Section 1. The foregoing recitals are ratified as true and incorporated herein. Section 2. The Village Council hereby amends the Comprehensive Pay Plan for Fiscal Year 2020 to include the position of Deputy Police Chief at Pay Grade 123. The Village Council further amends the Pay Plan to increase the range for merit increases for the positions of Deputy Police Chief and Police Captain from 2% to 5% to 2% to 7%. Section 3. All other provisions of the Comprehensive Pay Plan, to the extent not specifically modified herein, shall remain in full force and effect as originally adopted. Section 4.
