Judy Pierman DayPROCLAMATION VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH OFFICE OF THE MAYOR JUDY PIER IAN DAY WHEREAS, Judy Pierman served on the Village Council from 1986 to 1993 becoming the first woman mayor of North Palm Beach in 1989; and after the untimely passing of two councilmembers graciously returned to serve on Council in 2006 and 2015 until special elections were held; and WHEREAS, in addition to her service on the Village Council, Judy has received many honors and awards for community service, and is recognized and highly esteemed as a promoter and long- standing contributor to education in the Palm Beach County community having previously taught at the Benjamin School for 14 years and served as president of the Child Advocacy Board of Palm Beach County, Inc.; and WHEREAS, : Judy Pierman currently serves. as the Deputy Director of the Hispanic Human Resources Council also serving as their Director of Education for children ages 1 to 5 and serves on the Board of Directors for Hope Rural School; and WHEREAS, Judy Pierman is a life member of the Friends of the North Palm Beach Library and the American 'Association of University Women who honored her with the AAUW 2020 Woman of Distinction award; and WHEREAS, the Village Council wishes to convey its grateful appreciation to Judy Pierman for her many years of dedicated and exemplary service to our community and the community of Palm Beach County. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Darryl C. Aubrey, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Village of North Palm Beach, do hereby proclaim February 13, 2020 as: JUDY PIERVIAN DAY in the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, and extend this expression of esteem and best wishes for good health and happiness in the years to come.
