A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND RATIFYING THE
EMERGENCY PURCHASE OF CONDENSER COILS FOR THE PUBLIC
SAFETY BUILDING CHILLER AND THE RENTAL OF A TEMPORARY
CHILLER NECESSARY FOR EMERGENCY OPERATIONS FROM
CARRIER CORPORATION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, while mobilizing emergency op
Florida coast, Village Staff discovered that the
chiller needed to be replaced; and
rations as Hurricane Dorian approached the
condenser coils for the Public Safety Building
WHEREAS, because the Public Safety Building serves as the Village's Emergency Operations
Center, Village Staff procured a temporary chiller from Carrier Corporation and ordered
replacement coils for the existing chiller; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Village's purchasing policies and procedures, emergency
purchases exceeding $25,000 require Village Council approval; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the adoption of this Resolution, including the
waiver of any conflicting purchasing policies and procedures, is in the best interests of the
residents and citizens of the Village of North Palm Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing "whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby approves and ratifies the emergency purchase of a
temporary chiller for the Public Safety Building and the purchase of replacement coils for the
existing chiller from Carrier Corporation at a total cost of $29,837, with funds expended from
Account No. A5510-34657 (Public Safety Building — Repair and Maintenance).
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect retroactive to September 30, 2019.
