1979-17 Declaring Results of General ElectionRESOLUTION N0. 17-79 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BF,ACH, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION }{ELD ON MARC}{ 20, 1979, WHERF,AS, on the 20th day of March 20, 1979, a General Election ' was held in the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida for the ptrrpose of electing Councilmen to the Village Council for Groups 2 and 4, and for submitting to the Village electors an Opinion Proposition, to- wit: S}{OI]LD T}{E VILLAGE RESTORE THE OAKS BUILDING? and, WHF,REAS, by due resolution the following named persons were appointed inspectors and clerks of said election: Faith Lutheran Church, Precincts 48 and 53• Inspectors: Esther Bricker Eleanor Watt Margo Borne Grete McBride Clerk; Elizabeth Redding Council Chambers, Village }call, Precinct 49; Inspectors: Lillian Drudi Linda Wilkens Joyce Brown Barbara Hill Clerk: Jean Noell Old Port Cove, Precinct 50: Inspectors: Jean Corcoran Jay Steed Patricia {{iegel Clerk: Faye Lucas Elk's Lodge 2069, Precincts 34 and 52: Inspectors: Irma Brown Florence Daniels Pearl Doran Josephine Haddad ' Roberta Ladeda Anne Lastition Martha Schultz Gertrude Zentgraf Barbara Nichols Barbara Bedwell Clerk: Louise Nash and, WHF,REAS, on March 20, 1979 said inspectors and clerks, after taking and subscribing their oaths in accordance with law, made their returns to the Village Council, which returns certified t}tat the following are the results of said General Election, to-wit: Total Machine Votes - Opinion Proposition 2175 Total Machine Votes 4288 total Absentee Votes 33 1 For Village Councilman, Group 2; (2-year term) William H. Brown received 1357 votes Harriet Nolan received 807 votes For Village Councilman, Group 4; (2-year term) V. A. Marks received 1347 votes R. John Schneider received 841 votes Opinion Proposition; S}{OULD THE VILLAGE RESTORE THE OAKES BUILDING? 1103 Yes Votes 1103 No Votes 1 1 and, WHEREAS, the Village Council has duly canvassed the returns of said General Election and finds that the returns of the in- spectors and clerks of said election are true and correct tabulations of the votes cast; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Village Council finds and declares that the following are the results of the General Election of March 20, 1979: For Village Councilman, Group 2; William H. Brown received 1357 votes Harriet Nolan received 807 votes For Village Councilman, Group 4: V. A. Marks received 1347 votes R. John Schneider received 841 votes Opinion Proposition: SHOULD T{iE VILLAGE RESTORE THE OAKES BUILDING? 1103 Yes Votes 1103 No Votes Section 2. That the following candidates are hereby de- clared to be elected to the respective offices as follows; Village Councilman, Group 2; William H. Brown -2- Village Councilman, Group 4: V. A. Marks Opinion Proposition: SHOULD THE VILLAGE RESTORE THE OAKES BUILDING? 1103 Yes Votes 1103 No Votes ' Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage.
