SUC}{ ELECTION SHALL BE }{ELD; APPOINTING THE F.LF.CTION ' O}'FICIALS FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION AND RUN-OFF ELECTION; DF,CLARING 77[F. OFFICES TO BE FILLED AT SUCH ELECTION; AND SETTING FORT}{ A Ql1F,STION TO BI; Sl1BMITTF.D TO THE ELECTORS OF THE VILLAGF. FOR THF,IR NON-BINDING OPINION. W}iF.REAS, the Charter of the Village provides for a gen- oral election to be held on the third Tuesday in March of each year; and WI{EREAS, there are two offices to be filled at the general election to be held in the Village on the third Tuesday in March, ].979; and WHEREAS, the Village Council has determined to submit the ' following question to the qualified electors of the Village for their non-binding opinion, to-wit: Should the Village restore the Oakes Building? NOW, TI{EREFORF., RE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That a general election shall be held, and is hereby declared to be held in the Village of North Palm Reac}i, Yalm Beach County, Florida, between the hours of 7:00 A.hf. and 7:00 P.M. on the 20th day of March, 1979 for the purpose of electing members to the Village Council to fill such offices in Groups 2 and 4 for a period oi' two years each, and for submitting the following question to the qualified electors of the Village, to-wit: ' Should the Village restore the Oakes Building? Section 2. The Village Clerk is hereby ordered and direct- ed to cause a notice of said election to be published in the Palrn Reach Post-Times at least fifteen days prior to said election. Said notice shall be substantially in the following form: NOTICE OF GENERAL ELECTION MARCH 20, 1979 TO ALL QUALIFIED F,LF.CTORS RESIDING IN THE VILLAGE OF NORT}I PALM BF,AC}{~ PALM BF,ACH COUNTY, FLORIDA: By order of the Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, notice is hereby given ' that a general election will be held in said Village on the 20th day of March, 1.979 for the purpose of electing Councilmen for the i'oll.owing offices, to-wit: Village Councilman, Group 2 (2-year term) Village Councilman, Group 4 (2-year term) and for submitting the following question to the qualified electors of t}te Village, to-wit: Should the Village restore the Oakes Building? Said election will be held in the Village of Nort}t Palm }3eac}t, and the polling places are designated as Faith Lutheran Church, Precincts 48 and 53; Council Chambers, Village }{all, Pre- cinct 49; Old Port Cove, Precinct 50; and F.lks' Lodge No. 2069, Pre- ' cincts 34 and 52, all in the Village of North Palm Beach. The polls will be open in the voting places from 7:00 A.M. until 7:00 P,M, The following inspectors and clerks have been designated and appoint- ed by the Village Council for the purpose of conducting said election: Faith Lutheran Church, Precincts 48 and 53; Inspectors; Esther Bricker Eleanor Watt Margo Born Grete McBride Clerk; Elizabeth Redding Council Chambers, Village Hall, Precinct 49: Inspectors: Lillian Drudi Linda Wilkens ' Joyce Brown Barbara }{ill Clerk: Jean Noell Old Port Cove, Precinct 50: Inspectors: Jean Corcoran Jay Steed Patricia Hiegel Clerk: Faye Lucas -2- Elks' Lodge No. 2069, Precincts 34 and 52; Inspectors: Irma Brown Florence Daniels Pearl Doran Josephine Haddad Roberta Ladeda Anne Lastition Martha Schultz Gertrude Zentgraf Barbara Nichols ' Clerk: Louise Nash The above officials have also been designated and appoint- ed by the village Council for the purpose of conducting the special tort-off election to be held on the first Tuesday in April 1979, if such becomes necessary. The Village Clerk is }tereby directed to secure and furnish to the inspectors and clerks in charge of the polling places on the day of the election a certified list of the yual.ii'ied electors appearing on the registration books. Section 4. Section 5. The offices for which said candidates shall be elected at the general election are: Village Councilman, Group 2 (2-year term) Village Councilman, Group 4 (2-year term) and i'or submitting the following question to the qualified electors of t}te Vi.l.lage, to-wit: Should the Village restore the Oaks Building? Section 6. The inspectors and clerks of the general ' election to be held in the Village on the third Tuesday in March, 1979 are hereby designated to be the same officials to serve at the special run-off election if such election is held. Section 7. The Village Clerk and election officials are hereby directed to arrange for the use of voting machines at said general election, and the form of the ballot shall be such as is consistent with the rise of voting machines. Absentee ballots shall. be prepared by the Village Clerk in form consistent with existing Village ordinances. Section 8. The Village Council shall hold a meeting on the 21st day of March, 1979 for the purpose of canvassing the returns and declaring the results of said election. ' Section 9.
