A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA APPROVING A PAYMENT TO D.S.
EAKINS CONSTRUCTION CORP. FOR WORK PERFORMED ON THE
POOL DECK AT THE NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTRY CLUB; WAIVING
THE VILLAGE'S PURCHASING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village was in need of a contractor to repair the concrete decking and backfill and
compact areas of excavation around the perimeter of the pool for the installation of pavers; and
WHEREAS, due to time constraints and the Construction Manager at Risk's inability to perform the
work, the Village authorized D.S. Eakins Construction Corp. to complete the work at a total cost of
$19,834.15 without obtaining written quotes as required by the Village's purchasing policies and
procedures; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the adoption of this Resolution, including a waiver
of the purchasing policies and procedures generally applicable to purchases in excess of $2,500 but
less than $25,000, is in the best interests of the residents and citizens of the Village of North Palm Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE
OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are ratified as true and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby approves a payment to D.S. Eakins Construction
Corp. for repair of the concrete decking and the backfill and compaction of areas around the
perimeter of the pool at the North Palm Beach Country Club in the amount of $19,834.15, with
funds expended from Account No. K7600-66210 (Country Club Clubhouse Project — Construction and
Major Renovation).
Section 3. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 26TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 2019.
