R2019-90 Workers' Compensation Insurance with PGITRESOLUTION 2019-90
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF PREFERRED
GOVERNMENTAL INSURANCE TRUST (PGIT) TO PROVIDE WORKERS'
COMPENSATION INSURANCE FOR THE VILLAGE AND AUTHORIZING
MEMBERS OF VILLAGE ADMINISTRATION TO TAKE ALL ACTION
NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THE POLICY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village requested that The Gehring Group issue a request for proposals for
workers' compensation insurance for the Village; and
WHEREAS, the Village's current provider, Preferred Governmental Insurance Trust (PGIT),
submitted a proposal increasing overall costs by 6.1 %; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the acceptance of the proposal submitted by
Preferred Governmental Insurance Trust is in the best interests of the Village and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are hereby ratified and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby accepts the proposal submitted by Preferred
Governmental Insurance Trust to provide workers' compensation insurance to the Village in
accordance with the pricing, terms and conditions set forth in its response to the solicitation
issued by The Gehring Group. The Village Council further authorizes members of Village
Administration to take all actions necessary to implement the insurance policy as of October 1,
2019, including, but not limited to, execution of all required agreements.
Section 3. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to
the extent of such conflict.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
