A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIllA, CANCELLING THE GENERAL ELECTION SCHEDULED
1'0 BE }{F,LD ON MARCH 21, 1978 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING
MEMBERS TO THF, VILLAGE COUNCIL TO FILL SUCH OFFICES IN GROUPS
' 1, 3 AND 5.
WHF,REAS, by Resolution No. 5-78 the Village Council
declared a general election to be held on March 21, 1978 for
the purpose of electing members to the Village Council to fill
such offices in Groups 1, 3 and 5 for a period of two years
each; and
WHF.RF.AS, the Village of North Palm Beach Code provides
that in the event not more than one person qualified as a
candidate for a designated seat on the Village Council to be
filled at an election, that seat shall not be listed on the
regular Village election ballot; and
WHF,REAS, only one pers on has qualified as a candidate
in each of said Groups 1, 3, and 5;
NOW, T}iF,REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
ON NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The general election declared to be held
on March 21, 1978 by Resolution No. 5-78 is hereby cancelled,
and each unopposed candidate for the offices of Village
Councilman, Groups 1, 3 and 5, shall be deemed to have voted
for himself.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect inunediately
upon passage.
