1976-52 Urging the Transfer of Peanut Island from the Port of Palm Beach to Palm Beach County for Recreational UseRESOLUTION N0. 52-76 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, URGING THE TRANSFER OF PEANUT ISLAND FROhI THE PORT OF PALM BEACH TO PALM BEACH COUNTY FOR RECREATIONAL PURPOSES. WHEREAS, Peanut Island is presently under the jurisdiction of the Port of Palm Beach Authority, and WHEREAS, Peanut Island is more suited for recreational purposes than it is for purposes connected with the operations of the Port of Palm Beach, and W}{EREAS, the use of Peanut Island as a recreational facility would be of value to all the residents of Palm Beach County due to its geographical location, its size, and its historic use by the public, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Port of Palm Beach Commissioners and the Palm I3each County Commissioners are hereby strongly urged to enter into negotiations whereby control and jurisdiction over Peanut Island will be ' transferred from the Port of Palm Beach to Palm Beach County and limited to the specific use of recreational purposes for all the residents of Palm Beach County, Florida. Section 2. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to the Port of Palm Beach Commissioners, to the Palm Beach County Commissioners, and the Palm Beach County Municipal League.
