A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, EXTENDING THE ZONING IN
PROGRESS ALONG THE VILLAGE'S COMMERCIAL CORRIDORS
WITHIN THE VILLAGE'S CORPORATE LIMITS FOR AN ADDITIONAL
SIX MONTHS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, through the adoption of Ordinance No. 2017-17 on October 12, 2017, the Village
Council adopted a Zoning in Progress for the Village's commercial corridors to ensure that potential
developers are aware of the goals and objectives of the "The Village of North Palm Beach Citizens'
Master Plan Report dated October 20, 2016" ("Master Plan"), and the Village's efforts to implement
the Master Plan through a form -based update to the Land Development Code; and
WHEREAS, Section 3 of Ordinance No. 2017-17 provided that the Zoning in Progress expires
eighteen months from its effective date (or by April 12, 2019) or the date the Village adopts a
form -based code for its commercial zoning districts, whichever shall first occur, provided, however,
that if the Village has not adopted the new code within eighteen months, the Village Council may
extend the Zoning in Progress by resolution for an additional six-month period; and
WHEREAS, because the Village has not yet completed the adoption process, Village Council wishes
to extend the Zoning in Progress for an additional six-month period and determines that the adoption of
this Resolution is in the best interests of the residents and citizens of the Village of North Palm Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE
OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are ratified as true and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby extends the Zoning in Progress adopted by Ordinance
No. 2017-17 for an additional six-month period through October 12, 2019.
Section 3. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
