OFFICE OF THE MAYOR
MARK HODGKINs DAY
WHEREAS, Mark Hodgkins was employed by the Village of North Palm Beach on August 18, 1983
as Recreation Programmer; and
WHEREAS, Mark Hodgkins was named Recreation Center Director in 1985; and
WHEREAS, Mark Hodgkins was officially promoted to the position of Recreation Director
effective April 3, 1986; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure, Mark has overseen the operation of Anchorage Park, Lakeside Park,
Osborne Park, Veterans Memorial Park, the North Palm Beach Community Center, and the
North Palm Beach Country Club Tennis and Pool Facilities; and
WHEREAS, Mark Hodgkins has been instrumental in providing athletics, camp programs,
special events, community classes, and trips and tours that enrich the lives of citizens young, old,
and in-between; and
WHEREAS, Mark Hodgkins has been part of the fabric of Village life for over 3 5 years; and
WHEREAS, on the occasion of Mark Hodgkins' retirement as Director of Parks and Recreation,
it is fitting and proper that the Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach should convey its
grateful appreciation to him for many years of dedicated and exemplary service to our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, David B. Norris, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of
the Village of North Palm Beach, do hereby proclaim March 8, 2019 as:
MARK HODGKINS DAY
in the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, and extend this expression of esteem and best wishes
for good health and happiness in the years to come.
