1973-04 Temporary Halt to Issuance of Building PermitsRESOLUTION N0. 4-73 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, DECLARING A TEMPORARY HALT TO THE ISSUANCE OF BUILDING PER- MITS PENDING RESOLUTION OF THE SANITARY SEWAGE PROBLEMS CONCERNING THE ' VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, AND REQUESTING SIMILAR ACTION FROM THE PAIM BF,AC}{ COUNTY COMMISSION, THE COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF LAKE PARK, FLORIDA AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLORIDA. WHEREAS, the Village Council has been advised. that the treat- ment of sewage effluent at the North Palm Beach Utilities sewer plant may be damaging to public health by virtue of the degree of treatment of sewage which enters the Earman River and. flows through the Village of North Palm Beach; and. W){EREAS, hearings are to be held by various governmental agencies concerned with public health and. welfare regarding the future use of additional connections to the North Palm Beach Utilities' sewage plant; and WHEREAS, the Village Council is greatly concerned for the health and. welfare of the inhabitants of the Village of North Palm Beach and. desires to prevent any pollution of the open waters through the Village of North Palm Beach by permitting additional sewage connections to be added to the North Palm Beach Utilities plant without the approval and. consent of those agencies having direct supervision of the sewage plant; NOW, T}{EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PAIA1 BEAC}{, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Building Department of the Village of North Palm Beach is directed to temporarily issue no new building permits ' for any facilities which would increase the use of the sewer plant serving the Village of North Palm Beach until such time as the Village Cowicil receives assurances and. advice that additional buildings would. not harm the public health of the residents of the Village of North Palm Beach and. vicinity. Section 2. The Palm Beach County Commission, the Palm 13each Gardens City Council, and the Commission of the Town of Lake Park, Florida are hereby strongly requested to take similar action as that set forth above, since land. within their boundaries is served ' by the sewage plant located in the Village of North Palm Beach and the danger to the public health of County residents and residents of the City of Palm Beach Gardens and. of the Town of Lake Park, as well as the residents of North Palm Beach, may be affected. Section 3. The Village Clerk is directed to send a con- formed copy of this Resolution to the Mayors of the City of Palm Beach Gardens and the Town of Lake Park, to the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach County, and to the Palm Beach County Health Department.
