R2018-79 TireSoles Blanket PORESOLUTION 2018-79
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA APPROVING A BLANKET PURCHASE
ORDER FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT WITH TIRESOLES OF
BROWARD, INC. D/B/A ELPEX TIRES IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$85,000; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village's Purchasing Policies and Procedures authorize the use of blanket purchase
orders for materials purchased over a certain period of time not to exceed a single fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, blanket purchase orders in excess of $10,000 require approval by the Village Council; and
WHEREAS, Village Administration is recommending approval of a blanket purchase order
for automotive tires and repair/retread services utilized by the Public Works Department
pursuant to pricing established by an existing Florida Sheriff's Association Contract
(Contract No. 15/17-07-0220); and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the adoption of this Resolution, including the
waiver of any purchasing policies applicable to the purchases made pursuant to the blanket
purchase order, is in the best interests of the Village and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE
OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are ratified as true and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby approves the issuance of a blanket purchase order to
TireSoles of Broward, Inc. d/b/a Elpex Tires in an amount not to exceed $85,000, with funds
expended from Account No. A5522-35221 (Vehicle Maintenance – Tires and Tubes).
Section 3. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
