A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PAIM BEAC}{,
FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PALM BEACH
COUNTY TO ERECT FENCING ON THE BRIDGE OVER THE EARMAN RIVER ON PROS-
PF.RITY FARMS ROAD TO SAFEGUARD PEDESTRIANS CROSSING SAID BRIDGE IN
VIEW OF THE DIRE EMERGENCY AND DANGER AT THAT LOCATION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEAC}i,
FLOKIDA:
Section 1. The Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach
County, Florida are urgently requested to erect fencing between the
sidewalk and roadway on the bridge over the Earman River on Prosperity
Farms Road in the Village of North Palm Beach as soon as possible in
t}rat an extremely dangerous situation exists at that location.
Section 2. The Board of County Commissioners is requested
to erect a four-foot chain link fence attached to the curb area and
further to reverse the railing on the east side of the bridge so that
it extends away from the sidewalk area, in that children on bicycles
crossing on said sidewalk area have an extremely limited amount of
space in which to traverse the bridge.
Section 3. The danger to children as pedestrians and on
bicycles falling from the sidewalk onto the heavily traveled traffic
on Prosperity Farms Road at said bridge location has created an extreme
emergency which should be corrected immediately by the Board of County
Corrunissioners of Palm Beach County.
Section 4. The Village Manager is directed to forward a
copy of this Resolution to the Chairman of the Board of County Commission-
' ers, the County Administrator, and County Engineer.
