WHEREAS, the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida recog- nines that the waters of Lake Worth provide boating, swimming and i'ishing recreation for both the residents of the Village of North Palm Beach and neighboring communities, and W}iERF,AS, while the Village of North Palm Beach recognizes the importance of oceanography security of the United States, pollution and other ecological filling of Lake Worth to exparr~ commercial and residential use oi' Palm Beach Commission, to the local economy and to the it is deeply concerned about the effects of the proposed dredging and i Peanut Island for oceanographic, as currently proposed by the Port ' NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORT}[ PALM RF,AC}{, FLORIllA: Section 1. It is in the best interests of the reside its of the Village of North Palm Beach to prohibit dredging and/or filling oi' Lake Worth, to prohibit commercial development of Peanut Island, and to restrict such publicly-owned land as Peanut Island to public use. Section 2. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to forward a conformed copy of this Resolution to the Port Commissioners of the Port of Palm Beach.
